NEW ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR
Following the Board Meeting on Wednesday the directors are pleased to announce that Mark Blackbourne has been invited to become an Associate Director of the football club. Mark has worked as Chief Executive and Company Secretary, on a temporary basis, to help us through a very difficult period. Now that Jamie Hammond has had time to settle in to his appointment, Mark's employment with the club has ceased. He had always made it clear that he did not wish to be considered for the vacant position as he and his family wish to remain in the North of England. The Board are therefore delighted that Mark has accepted an Associate Directorship. He has very quickly developed a close affinity for the club and this will mean we will continue to benefit from Mark's vast experience in all matters relating to football.
Mark Blackbourne, "It is a privilege to have been invited to the position of Associate Director and one that I'm delighted to have accepted. Over the last four months the Club has come along way, the team has performed particularly well and now has a good platform to support a very good season, the staff have seen a number of changes all of which have been enthusiastically welcomed giving the club an opportunity to develop administratively, commercially and equally develop as a strong community based football club. I look forward to my continued association with The Iron, working with the Board and the Staff at GlanfordPark as we continue to develop the club and for me to share in the enthusiasm the staff have for their Football Club".
Steve Wharton, "I personally am very grateful to Mark for helping out at very short notice and I know he has also been a great help to Jamie in his first month, as he takes on the role of General Manager".
