Scunthorpe United is pleased to announce that Richard Mason has been appointed as an Associate Director of the Club.

Richard, aged 36, has been a lifelong supporter of the Iron and is currently a season ticket holder. He attended his first match at the tender age of 4, with his father, and has not looked back since. His wife Rebecca is also a committed Iron fan and season ticket holder.

Richard is a Solicitor with the well known local practice of Mason, Baggott and Garton and is very much looking forward to bringing fresh ideas to the Board. Richard was instrumental in helping to organise the very successful Testimonial Match of Iron Legend Alex Calvo-Garcia .

"I was delighted to be offered the position of Associate Director at Scunthorpe United. Being a lifelong fan, I did not need to think twice before accepting this position, and I am really looking forward to being involved in the running of my home town club" said Richard.

Club Chairman Steve Wharton commented "We are always looking to develop the Club both on and off the field of play. I see the addition of Richard to the Board of Directors as a very positive move. Myself and the others Directors are looking forward to working with him"
