IZZY KEEN FOR PAIR TO STAY
Izzy Iriekpen would be delighted if defensive colleagues Andy Butler and Marcus Williams signed new deals.
The former Swansea man, who turns 26 on Wednesday, has been team captain in recent weeks, in a settled defence containing Butler, Williams and Cliff Byrne.
And it was a line-up which clearly worked as the season drew to a close, something which Iriekpen wants to build on in League One next year.
"It's gone really well, even though me and Butts are still really two young boys," Iriekpen told the Scunthorpe Telegraph.
"He has done really well this season and hopefully he'll stay here because I'd like to play alongside him again.
"The more games we've played the better the understanding has been between us.
"It's important he stays with the club and I'd like to see Marcus Williams stay as well.
"We're a young back four, but if we can keep everyone together I think we'll do really well."
