MONDAY'S MEDIA ROUND-UP
With the new season still less than a fortnight old, Scunthorpe United find themselves plunged into an injury crisis in defence. All four centre-backs could be ruled out of next Saturday's home game with Peterborough - and manager Nigel Adkins could be forced to dip into the loan market.
Scunthorpe Telegraph
Scunthorpe boss Nigel Adkins admits he faces major selection posers ahead of Saturday's home clash with Peterborough due to mounting injuries. Striker Paul Hayes was stretchered off during the 2-1 defeat at Walsall last weekend and joins defensive trio Izzy Iriekpen (groin), Andy Crosby and Kenny Milne (both knee) on the sidelines. Fellow defender David Mirfin was also sent off against the Saddlers and will now serve a one-match ban to add to Adkins' woes.

Walsall manager Jimmy Mullen insisted Jabo Ibehre's winning goal against Scunthorpe was not offside and heaped praised on his battling side. Ibehre made no mistake in Saturday's League One clash at the Banks's Stadium, exchanging passes with substitute Ishmel Demontagnac and firing home in the 2-1 win, despite suspicions of offside.
Sporting Life
Jabo Ibehre's dramatic winner one minute from time won praise from his Walsall boss Jimmy Mullen. "He has been superb for us," said Mullen. "He works hard for the team and has won the respect of everyone in the dressing room."
