Scunthorpe United will make 'one or two' changes for their Johnstone's Paint Trophy match at home to Notts County tonight (7.30pm). But manager Nigel Adkins insists there won't be too many for a competition he wants to see the Iron go a long way in.

Birmingham have agreed to Scunthorpe's request to extend Krystian Pearce's loan spell at the League One club until January 2009. The defender had joined Iron on a short-team deal in August but will now remain at Glanford Park for the next four months.

Young England defender Krystian Pearce has been warned he is not guaranteed a place in the Iron first team, despite having his loan spell with the club extended until January. But more performances like the 18-year-old has turned in against Stockport and Peterborough and it will be difficult for manager Nigel Adkins to leave the centre-back out of his starting XI.
