BYRNE SIGNS CONTRACT EXTENSION

Defender Cliff Byrne has agreed a new two-year-deal to keep him at Glanford Park until 2009.
Byrne's current contract had one year to run after the Club exercised an option on the player at the turn of the year.
However, negotiations over a further extension have now concluded with Byrne signing a new two-year contract.
The defender joined the Iron on a permanent basis in June 2003 from Sunderland after a successful loan spell.
Byrne has made 170 appearances in an Iron shirt so far playing both at centre-back and right-back during his four seasons at the Club.
