Two-goal hero Martin Paterson has been voted by readers as their man of the match after the sensational 2-1 win at Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday night.

The Iron moved up to ninth in the table with a win over Brian Laws' men and Paterson, who now has seven goals for the season, was the clear winner this time around.

It is the first time he has won the accolade this season.

Kelly Youga has taken it on three occasions, while Cliff Byrne has also won twice.

Jim Goodwin, Joe Murphy and Jack Cork have also won the accolade.

The vote will be open again after Scunthorpe's next away game at Cardiff City - which comes a week on Saturday afternoon.
