SEVEN HEAVEN FOR PATERSON
He has seven goals for the season now, and Hillsborough is proving to be a lucky ground for United's leading marksman Martin Paterson.
The forward netted two strikes in the superb 2-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday night, to add to a goal which he scored for Stoke City at the ground last season.
Backed by a tremendous travelling army of over 3,000 supporters, Scunthorpe put in a great team display to see off the Owls and move back up the Championship table.
The Iron came from behind to net twice in the first half through Paterson and held on for a memorable victory.
Those were the striker's first goals in over a month and he was delighted to move up the divisional goalscoring charts.

Speaking to the press after the game, Paterson beamed: "It was brilliant, especially after Saturday when we couldn't break Leicester down and some of the fans were disappointed - which was rightly so because they've got a right to moan and groan.
"We've come here to a full stadium, and dug deep in the first half. We went behind and a few of their fans thought we were going to get trounced - but not us. We digged in, we kept it tight and went on and scored two.
"My first professional goal was at Hillsborough, and it is great to say 'I've scored at Hillsborough' but to come back and score two shows that it's a good ground for me. The lads put in some good balls for me though, Butler with a good header and Cleveland with a great cross.
"It's the lads behind me who fight and scrap to win the ball, and do all the nasty jobs, and I just get in the right decisions and take all the plaudits, but today the most important thing was the lads sticking together, the togetherness, that's why we celebrated at the bench. We're all together, even those who weren't involved - there's no egos.
"We came here, got a result and we will kick on."
