West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Mowbray has called for his club's supporters to create an intimidating atmosphere when the Championship leaders host United on Saturday.

Buoyed by a 4-1 home success over Bristol City on Boxing Day, the Baggies will be full of confidence heading into the match at the Hawthorns.

However, Scunthorpe also had a successful Wednesday - clawing their way out of the division's relegation zone with a 1-0 win at Preston, and Mowbray expects a tough afternoon.

"It was very pleasing to see a full stadium," he said after the midweek match. "I would hope as we go on - if we do keep picking up points - that it will become a common sight. The extra impetus they can give us does drive us on.

"We have a massive game on Saturday and we need to make sure the intensity remains the same. They (Scunthorpe) will give it everything they've got - we need the same intensity, same quality, same support and same backing if we can.

"It's not just about turning up and winning. Scunthorpe are fighting for their lives, and will be giving it everything they've got."

The Baggies head into the match with doubts Chris Brunt (hamstring) and Filipe Teixeira (ill). Their replacements on Wednesday, Kevin Phillips and James Morrison, look poised to retain their places.
