WORLD: ADKINS ALREADY FOCUSING ON PLYMOUTH - FREEVIEW
Scunthorpe manager Nigel Adkins says his team will quickly switch their focus to Tuesday night's home game against Plymouth after a disappointing loss at Hull City on Saturday.
United never got going against the Tigers and were sunk in the first-half by headed goals from Henrik Pedersen and Michael Turner.
There are now ten games left and, with the Iron sitting 23rd and six points adrift of safety, Adkins knows they need to start getting wins on the board if the club's Championship dream is to continue.
A bad afternoon was topped off with the news that the club's relegation rivals - barring Colchester, who sit below them in bottom spot - had all picked up favourable results.
"If it is a bad day for the results then it is a bad day for the results - I cannot control that," said Adkins, speaking in his post-match press conference which is now playing on Iron World.
"But what we can control is how we prepare ourselves for the next game now, and that is what we will do. The lads will be in on Sunday morning and we will have a cool-down.
"We will debrief this game, and find out the reasons why we have no performed as well as we have done all season. Then we will draw a line underneath it and focus on the next game, which is Plymouth.
"We cannot dwell on the matter, we cannot feel sorry for ourselves, because we have got another massive game on Tuesday at home - and we have got to be up for it."
