The 2008-09 Coca-Cola League One campaign will kick off on Saturday, August 9, the Football League confirmed on Monday.

They also announced that the fixture list for the new season will be unveiled on Monday, June 16 at 10am, as revealed on www.scunthorpe-united.co.uk last week.

It is a big season for Nigel Adkins' men, as they seek an instant return to the Coca-Cola Championship.

The players are scheduled to return to pre-season training on Tuesday, July 1 and the full list of friendlies will be announced soon.
