Striker Martin Paterson just squeezed out the threat of goalkeeper Joe Murphy to be ranked the Iron's top performer for 2007-08 - according to the Actim Index, the official player rating system of the Coca-Cola Championship.

The 14-goal top scorer amassed a total of 447 points, three more than the stopper, to finish 60th in the chart.

Republic of Ireland international Murphy ended the campaign in 61st position, with the nearest challenger to him being captain Andy Crosby, who finished in 106th place with 385 points.

The Actim Index is calculated using a unique mathematical formula that rates each player's contribution be it goals, shots, passes, dribbles, tackles, crosses, saves, clearances, blocks, interceptions, assists, clean sheets, time on the pitch or number of points gained by the team with marks deducted for red and yellow cards.

The Actim Index is the official player ratings system of the Barclays Premier League and Coca-Cola Championship, which has been statistically proven to identify the best players. It is compiled and distributed by PA Sport.

The list of the Top 100 players and Top 5 players by position are available free of charge from the Actim website: www.pa-sport.com/en/products/actim-statistics.html.
