SUPPORTERS CLUB NEWS UPDATE
This is the beginning of the final run in to (hopefully) promotion. Many of you will be glued to radios and mobile phones this afternoon, but don't forget to get behind the team. The most important thing today is to get three points, and then we don't have to worry about what is happening at Ashton Gate. We would like to welcome all the Bradford fans who have made the journey to Glanford Park this afternoon and hope you have a safe journey home. We wish you all the best for the rest of the season (after today of course)!
SUOSC Flag
As many of you will be aware the OSC have recently purchased a large flag which we hope to have on display at as many games (home and away) as we can. The feedback we have had from the Nottingham Forest game was very positive. We are currently in the process of obtaining permission from the authorities at Blackpool Tower to allow us to drape the flag from the top of the Tower at lunchtime on Saturday 28th April. Keep your eye on this page for further details.
Away support
Again the away support for the two successive long trips to Brighton and Leyton Orient has been magnificent. It is an expensive business following the team all over the country and it is very much appreciated by everyone at the football club. We have three away games left and it already looks like the game at Northampton on Easter Monday will be a sell out for Iron fans. We are already preparing for the Blackpool game, with tickets likely to be in big demand. A number of guest houses in Blackpool have already got their "No Vacancies" signs out for that weekend.
Player of the Month
The winner of the February Player of the Month is Joe Murphy. Joe will be presented with his trophy after this afternoon's game. You can now vote for your March "Player of the Month" by filling in a voting slip in the Iron Bar prior to today's game or the Yeovil game, or by e-mailing ironsupporters@scunthorpeunited.co.uk.
Paul Richardson Memorial Quiz
We will be holding the annual Paul Richardson Memorial Quiz in the Iron Bar on Monday April 16th, with a start time of 7.30pm. There will be a charge of £5 for a team of four. There will also be a raffle and all money raised will go towards the Youth Team, so please support this very good cause.
Presentation evening
The SUOSC Annual Presentation Evening which will take place on Saturday 5th May is already SOLD OUT. We would like to thank everyone for their interest. Whilst talking about end of season presentations, it was interesting to see in the Orient programme that their end of season Presentation Evening will be held at the Dorchester Hotel, Park Lane, London. Tickets cost a mere £150 and it has already sold out. Obviously Orient fans are the richest (and poshest) in League One!!
