OFFICIAL SUPPORTERS CLUB NEWS UPDATE
All the latest news from United's Official Supporters Club - as published in the Blackpool matchday programme:
MARTIN HARRIS
We are sorry to announce that Martin Harris has decided to step down from the Committee. We would like to say a big thank you to him for all his hard work and wish him all the very best for the future.
COACH TRAVEL
Thanks to everyone who travelled to Coventry with us - it was a great performance and achievement to come away from the Ricoh Arena with a point. Well done to the lads, especially to Jack Cork, who was voted the "Man of the Match" on the coach. A raffle was held on the coach, with the winner of a £10 Travel Voucher being Geoff Milner.
We will be running a coach to the match at Ipswich Town on December 15th. The cost is £19 for members and £20 non members. The pick up times are: Priory 8:00 am, Railway Station 8:15am and Berkeley 8:30am.
Looking ahead to Christmas, we will be running coaches to both the Preston North End and West Bromwich Albion matches. The price for members is £14 for Preston and £15 for West Brom. Any member booking for both games will get a reduced price of £25 for the two games.
To book your seat see any committee member in the Iron Bar or around the ground, e-mail travel@suosc.co.uk, or call Brian on 07767 256 465.
Please note that we require at least a 50% deposit to secure your seat. This is because we have to pay for the coach 10 days in advance. Thanks for your co-operation.
We would like to thank JB Vending of Bottesford for supplying the hot drinks served on the coach.
CROSSBAR CHALLENGE
The prize fund for today's game stands at £25. Anyone wishing to enter can see Harold and Colin in the Iron Bar, e-mail to press@suosc.co.uk or contact any committee members round the ground. Also, thanks to all the committee members who have helped out on the pitch at half time.
We would like to give our congratulations to Michael Towse, who won the Crossbar Challenge and took home £150 at the Hull City game.
We would like to thank Adrian Garner of Garners Pharmacy, Frodingham Road, Scunthorpe for kindly agreeing to sponsor this competition, which is now in its third season.
CHRISTMAS PARTY
The children's Christmas Party is to be held in the Iron Bar on 23rd December, 2007 between 2pm and 5pm. Tickets are now on sale and are available from any committee member or in the Iron Bar before the match. These tickets are priced at £2 for children and free for adults. Santa will be making his usual appearance with a gift for each child. We are also hoping that Nigel and the team will be available for photos and autographs. So come along and have a great afternoon!!
RAFFLE
We are also now selling our Christmas Raffle Tickets, which are priced at £1 for a book of five tickets. There are some great prizes to win, the first prize is a meal for four in the restaurant for the Barnsley game on New Years Day, so don't forget to buy your tickets!
MEMBERSHIP
We now have 176 members and members are entitled to a free Championship Guide and a polo shirt. These are now being sent out to members. Anyone who hasn't told us their shirt size can e-mail it to membership@suosc.co.uk.
Membership forms can be picked up from the Iron Bar on match days or downloaded from the website at www.suosc.co.uk.
The offer of a polo shirt is open until December 31st. After that date, membership will be reduced to £5, but no polo shirt will be offered with membership.
CHILDREN'S T-SHIRTS
We have a small number of children's T-shirts for sale. There are various sizes available between 7 years and 15 years. They are on sale in the Iron Bar after the game at £6 each. They would make ideal stocking fillers.
USE IT OR LOSE IT
Stagecoach will continue to run the after-match bus service from Glanford Park to town until the end of the year. We need fans to support this venture, or we risk losing the service. The most passengers carried has been 44, but the Hull City game saw 35 passengers use this service, which is still not enough to sustain it.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY
We would like to wish the following members a very Happy Birthday:
Martin Harris (45), Margaret Harriman (62), Chris Dobbs (27) and Jack Eldred Dobbs (17).
