All the latest news from the Iron's Official Supporters Club - as published in the Wolverhampton Wanderers matchday programme:

WELL DONE
Well done to all the United fans who have travelled the length and breadth of the country in the last month or so. We have had five away trips over the festive period, with long trips to Ipswich and Southampton included. At such an expensive time of year, the support you have given the team has been fantastic, especially at Southampton where 527 made the long journey and never stopped singing for the full 90 minutes.

We have already filled one coach for the game at Sheffield United on Saturday 9th February. We are well on the way to filling a second coach, so anyone interested in travelling with us is asked to book as soon as possible. The cost is £8 members and £9 for non-members, with the pick up times being: Priory Hotel 12 pm, Railway Station 12:15 pm and Berkeley Hotel 12:30 pm.

To book your seat see any committee member in the Iron Bar or around the ground, e-mail travel@suosc.co.uk, or call Brian on 07767 256 465.

Please note that we require at least a 50% deposit to secure your seat. This is because we have to pay for the coach 10 days in advance. Thanks for your co-operation.

Question:
Who do you turn to if you cannot get home from an away match?

Answer:
The S.U.O.S.C Executive Away Travel - that's just what happened on Saturday 12th, January 2008 at Southampton, when Iron fan Paul Holmes, who has supported the Iron for 36 years, couldn't get home to Carlisle, where he lives and works. Due to trouble on the railways, he could not get his connections to get home, having flown down from Glasgow to Southampton on Saturday morning. He was now stranded, so he came back on our coach to Scunny, where he was going to stay at his parents the night before heading back north on Sunday. Paul told me he was a season ticket holder, but had so far only seen four home matches all season due to work commitments.

Paul is the third person to just want a lift home this season after being stuck down in the deepest south. In December, a father and daughter had flown down from Leeds/Bradford to watch the game at Plymouth, but could not get home to Selby.

It's good to know who people can turn to when they are stranded - it makes us feel like knights on shining buses!

CROSSBAR CHALLENGE
The prize fund for today's game stands at £125 (providing no one was successful at the Norwich City game). Anyone wishing to enter can see Harold and Colin in the Iron Bar, e-mail to press@suosc.co.uk or contact any committee members around the ground. Also, thanks go to all the committee members who have helped out on the pitch at half time.

We would like to thank Adrian Garner of Garners Pharmacy, Frodingham Road, Scunthorpe, for kindly agreeing to sponsor this competition , which is now in its third season.

WELCOME BACK
We would like to welcome back Martin Harris to the committee after he had a change of heart about resigning.

FORTHCOMING FUNCTIONS
We have two upcoming functions. Firstly, we have a Valentines Night Disco at Brumby Hall on February 15th (see poster). Tickets are available from all committee members

On Saturday March 1st we have a Race Night at Bottesford Club with the first race at 8pm. Admission is free.

CHRISTMAS PARTY
We would like to thank everyone who attended the children's Christmas Party in the Iron Bar prior to Christmas. A great time was had by all. We would like to thank Nigel and all the players who attended for giving their time up to sign autographs, pose for pictures and help Santa hand out presents. Also, a big thanks to Tony C and Gail for providing the entertainment in their own inimitable style.
