EXECUTIVE AWAY TRAVEL

We had yet another great trip last Saturday to Leicester City, where we were greeted by cheerful P.C.S.O's outside the ground who told us where the coach would be for pick-up after the match. Then a Senior Supporter Steward had a chat with us, before we went into the ground to be greeted by stewards who informed us we could sit where we wanted in our section. We chose the back and were allowed to stand all match without any steward saying the famous words "sit down please". It was a shame about the result, but I have to give a special mention to Joe Murphy and Curtis Weston for being our star men. I was back home by 7:30pm tucking into my tea. Just a mention too for Dave Hunter, who missed his first match of the season. If you want to see my photo's of the Walker Stadium, Dave, you only have to ask.

If I see Bri Middleton today I'm sure he will buy me a drink, because he won our 'Predict the Scores' competition on the coach on Saturday winning £10. Well done, Bri!

There are only two matches left away from home now. The first is next Saturday 12th, April when we travel to Crystal Palace. The coach will depart from the Priory Hotel at 07:00, Railway Station 07:15, and Berkeley Hotel 07:30. Seats are priced at £19 for SUOSC members, £20 for non-members. (seats are booking fast!)

The away match of the season is at Watford on 26th April, when we are having a Hawaiian Fancy Dress day. The coach departs Priory Hotel at 08:15, Railway Station 08:30, and Berkeley Hotel 08:45. Seat prices are £14 for SUOSC members and £15 for non-members. (14 seats remain available at the time of going to press)

BIRTHDAY GREETINGS

Happy Birthday goes to Danny Lee, who celebrates his birthday on 9th April.

A big mention goes to the birthday of Les Wright who is 82 years young tomorrow. Les told me his father took him to see his first match against Denaby United in the 1937/38 season at The Old Showground, The Iron finished sixth in that season the Midland League.

Both Les and Danny are frequent travellers on our Executive Away Travel.
