United moved swiftly to sign Tomi Ameobi on loan from Leeds United in mid-November 2007.
Ameobi signed until the start of January after impressing Iron boss Nigel Adkins in a reserve match between Scunthorpe and Leeds at Glanford Park.
The young striker turned professional in the summer and made his debut for the Whites against Portsmouth in the Carling Cup.
Ameobi is the younger brother of Newcastle striker Shola.
