The Iron completed the loan signing of Birmingham City defender Krystian Pearce in August 2008.
The tough-tackling 18-year-old is highly-rated at St Andrews and joined initially for a month, providing vital central defensive cover for Scunthorpe at a time when they needed it.
Pearce is an England U19 international and enjoyed loan spells with Notts County, where he appeared nine times, and Port Vale, where he played on 12 occasions last season.
The 6' 1'' centre-back is held in high regard at St Andrews.
He was the club's first loan signing of the season, and the ninth addition of the summer.
