United made their second signing of the January transfer window, with midfielder Andrew Wright joining the club.
The former Liverpool trainee has been plying his trade in the USA, and was a central midfielder in his days at Anfield.
Wright signed a deal until the end of the season and the Iron have a one year option on the player.
At over six foot, he is known to be a strong athlete and a fine reader of the game. He has being playing for West Virginia University.
Gaining a degree in physical education, he is described as completing 'one of the finest careers in school history' and was called up to the College Men's MVP side - its version of an All-America team.
He finished his career there with 18 goals to his name from 83 matches, but is now hoping to become a professional.
Andrew played for the Iron's reserves in their 3-3 draw against Sheffield United at Glanford Park two weeks ago and impressed boss Nigel Adkins. winning his side a penalty.
